My Everyday Make Up

 Hello everybody!

I thought I would do a little post about the make up I am currently wearing on a daily basis whilst also making it into a kind of mini-tutorial. I always get into a little routine when it comes to my everyday look and once I've found a product I usually keep it until it runs out and I have to find an alternative or I get bored with it. I will often experiment and switch up colours on my cheeks, lips and eyes.  I usually go for a dark or bright lip colour but recently I've been using more dull shades which gives a more natural and fresh look!

Face:

❤
Collection Lasting perfection Concealer "No 2 Cool Medium"

Essence Stay all day 16H Foundation "20 Soft Nude"

Maybelline Super Stay 24H waterproof powder " 10 Soft Ivory"

 Collection Blush " 3 Cheeky"

Eyebrows:

Collection Eyebrow Pencil " 3 Blonde" - Used to shape the brows.

Mac Eyeshadow " Omega" - Used to fill in the brows.

Eyes:

No7 Pallet " Matte Brown"
(There was sadly no name for this product so I decided to give it one)

Active Cosmetics Pallet " Light Powder"- Used under eyebrows and in the inner corners of my eyes.  (I named this one myself due to no name).

Seventeen  Doll'd up Mascara " Black" - Applied to both sets of lashes before curling my lashes.

W7 Flirty Eyes Mascara - Applied to both sets of lashes after curling.

Company Lashes ( Company Magazine free sample) - Applied to top lashes for more effect.

Lips:

Avon "Chic" - I used this colour as it gives a more natural look as well as defining my lips for a more Vintage look!

I hope you enjoyed this little update! I love having a little peak inside everyone's make up bags  and see what others are loving and finding useful! So I thought I would share my current favourites (which is a little snippet of a huge collection!). Please feel free to leave any comments or suggestions on what posts you would like to see!

Favourite Lipsticks

For me Lipsticks and Lip glosses have become a huge part of my look whether it's for going out, casual or for effect, I am rarely seen out and about bare lipped! I realised the other day that I have built up quite a collection but I still tend to wear the same ones over and over, so I thought I would share them with you! ( Some of the paint work has faded on some due to me taking them around in my bag).

Lipsticks:

 ❤ Rimmel Kate moss "107"

 ❤ Rimmel Kate moss "01"

❤ Collection "3 sugar plumb"

 ❤ L'oreal caresse "06 Aphrodite Scarlett"

Revlon "447 black cherry"

Topshop "Beguiled"

Collection lip butter "3 vintage rose"

❤ Rimmel lip butter

Lip glosses :

Tanya burr "vampire kiss"

Tanya burr "smile, dream ,sparkle"

Maybeline colour sensational lip gloss "420 glorious grapefruit

Rimmel vinyl gloss "pin up"

L'oreal glam shine " 407 magnetic nude glow"

Rimmel apocalips "400 Big Bang"

As you can tell some of those have been used quite a lot and they are all similar colours and shades  (As most of the glosses are worn over the lipsticks to give it that extra shine!) and as Autumn and Winter approaches now is the perfect time to bring out the Reds, Darks and berry shades!

I'm Late I'm Late! For A Very Important Date!!

Hello Everybody! Sorry I haven't blogged in a while! I've been so busy with coursework, Rehearsals and work ( yes I got a job ..YAY!!) As this is the first Sunday I'm not doing over time I thought it was time for a nice blog post!

So this week it was my friend Charlotte's birthday and she decided to have an Alice in Wonderland themed party... Tea party, As the host she became the mad hatter and assigned everybody a part. Luckily for me I was given Alice, which is nice simple and nothing too drastic ( as I had to leave the party for work and then return back  later). Here is my "tutorial" on my face and outfit for Alice.....

Make up:

Face:
Collection Lasting perfection concealer "2 cool medium"
Rimmel wake me up foundation "Ivory"
Collection Lasting perfection power "2 medium"
Rimmel blusher " 05 live pink" (any light pink will do)

Blend these in as normal like your everyday make up look, or lighter if you're going for the more natural look.

 Eyes:
For this look I started by using a light blue eye shadow and then getting a slightly darker shade a blended my way to the outer corners of my eyes, before adding the darkest shade in the creases to give a smoky eye effect. After this you can add some eye liner if you want to, I tried it and I don't really suit eye-liner so I just went over it with eye shadow again so its is a faint line instead of a bold one.

Lips:

Baby lips "cherry me"
L'oreal caresse "06 Aphrodite Scarlet"
Pink lip gloss ( from Avon)

For the lips you can use any pale pinks or nude to give a natural effect.

Hair:

This part if optional!! I just curled my hair with a curling iron to get the curls she has but this part is entirely up to you and what you like!! If you hare going to use heat to style remember to use heat protect sprays!!!

Outfit:

Dress- Primark
Socks- Primark
Belt- New Look
Shoes- Topshop
Necklace- Gift (any small pendant will do)
Headband- Claire's accessories

And that's the finished look! Feel free to ask me any questions and leave any comments! and I'll see you all very soon!

October Favourites

So I guess this is my first monthly favourites... I have been loving quite a few beauty products and also some non- beauty things that I simply keep going back to no matter what.. seriously I'm hooked!

Beauty/ Fashion

First off on my list is Lipsticks. Now being in the Autumn/winter months I have started wearing more dark and red lipsticks; my favourites being Rimmel Kate Moss in 107(left) and 101(right). I tend to wear 107 a lot more as it is a more as I find that it is more matte and subtle than the 101 but I still love them both equally.

This month I have really been loving Lush I have constantly been going in there is month and I am building up quite a selection of products. (seriously I have to find a basket to fit them all in as they live in a bag.).... I think I'm becoming addicted! All their products just simply feel and smell great as well as look beautiful and making your baths so pretty. I know that I will definitely be going back for more.

I never used to use concealer in the past but this month I decided to try Collection lasting perfection concealer and I loved it! I have really noticed a difference in my skin and appearance. It has a matte finish and is very subtle.. perfect for all seasons (especially autumn/winter).

When I went to visit my nan and Grandad up in Yorkshire they gave me Ghost sweetheart as a gift and it smells amazing! Like a sweet, flowery sent that I just keep going back to... good thing it's in a large bottle.

The final beauty/ fashion based favourite are head scarves and headbands. As some of you can tell by YouTube videos I love flower crowns and headbands and tend to wear them in my videos *cough* when I remember.. oops. But as of this month I have been including them a lot more in my day to day life; they go with a lot more things and look great.

Non-Beauty

The first of my non-beauty based favourites is Orphan BlackA hit TV series from America which aired on BBC3 from 20th September-1st November 2013. It's about an Orphan named Sarah whos life is turned upside down after witnessing the suicide of a girl who looks a spitting image of her; later finding out that she is one of many look-a-likes who turn out to be clones.
The series included many plot twists and surprising events and conspiracies that kept me on the edge of my seat! By two episodes I was completely hooked. Although it has ended now (cry cry cry) I think there are still places online to view it...I absolutely love it and cannot wait until season 2 in 2014 I defiantly recommend it as  It's must watch!!
(At the top is the UK "when did I become us?" promo trailer, to the left is a promo poster showing all the characters (Sarah in colour) and below is the orginal US trailer...enjoy).

Whilst on the subject of TV shows, this month I have also been loving Atlantis. As Merlin ended last year (crys) Atlantis has become it's replacement...and I love it! It follows a guy names Jason who is sent back in time to the mythical city of Atlantis; following his adventures with Pythagoras and Hercules as well as meeting some iconic Mythical characters. It's on every Saturday around 8pm (UK time) on BBC1. Although it has already started you can catch up on the BBC Iplayer. If you liked Merlin you are going to love this!!

The final non-beauty based favourite is the salted caramel hot chocolate from Starbucks. I first heard about this when I got a Pumpkin spice latte (yum) I then began to hear more and more about it from a lot of other people including Zoella. The following week I gave in and got one for myself... It was amazing! The sweet chocolatey taste and the salt compliment each other so well and it kinda tastes similar to the toffee nut latte they bring out at Christmas time...yum! These are apparently out until January time (when the red cups go) so if you're in town or near a Starbucks go and get yourself one... I highly recommend it!

What things have you loved this month? Have you used, watched or had any of these? What do you think?

Jess ❤
